Starlit Map Privacy Policy
1. Core Principles
Starlit Map is a self-reflection app that helps users write down one problem, meditate, answer eight guided reflection questions, and light one star at a time.
Starlit Map follows these core privacy principles:
- Problems and reflection answers written by users are stored locally on the user's device by default.
- The developer does not collect users' problem text, reflection answers, or meditation record contents on a developer-operated server.
- Starlit Map does not require account registration.
- Starlit Map does not use users' reflection contents for ad requests, analytics events, or marketing purposes.
2. Information Processed by the App
Starlit Map may process the following information to provide app functionality.

3. Problems and Reflection Records Written by Users
Problems and reflection answers written in Starlit Map may be highly personal.
Starlit Map currently does not operate its own server and does not transmit users' problems or reflection answers to a developer server. These records are stored in the app's local storage and may be deleted from the device if the user deletes the app or resets app data.
If a user exports data through the backup feature, the backup file is moved to the sharing or storage location selected by the user. The user is responsible for how that backup file is stored, shared, or deleted.
4. Advertising
Starlit Map may show one interstitial ad to free users after every two completed star reflection cycles, when an ad is available and privacy requirements allow an ad request. Starlit Map does not show ads while the user is writing a problem, meditating, or writing reflection answers.
Starlit Map uses the Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform SDKs. These SDKs may process an IP address to estimate coarse location, device and app identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash logs, performance data, and other diagnostic information. This processing supports contextual ad delivery, aggregated reporting, frequency capping, security, fraud prevention, and SDK reliability.
On iOS, Starlit Map explicitly requests non-personalized ads and disables Google's publisher first-party identifier. Starlit Map does not request permission to access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and does not intentionally use advertising data to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. Non-personalized ads may still use limited identifiers for frequency capping and aggregated reporting.
Starlit Map does not include users' problem text or reflection answers in ad requests.

5. In-App Purchases
Starlit Map may offer a one-time in-app purchase to remove ads.
Product ID: starlit_map_plus_ad_free
Payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing systems. Starlit Map does not collect or store direct payment method information such as credit card numbers or bank account details.
The app may store the purchased product ID and purchase check time locally on the user's device to apply ad-free status.
6. Notifications
Starlit Map may send daily reflection reminder notifications only if the user turns reminders on.
Notification permissions can be changed at any time in the operating system settings. Turning off notifications does not prevent users from using Starlit Map's core features.

Each third-party service may process data according to its own privacy policy and terms.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Starlit Map's reflection records and app settings are stored locally on the user's device by default.
Users can delete data in the following ways:
- Use the in-app data reset feature
- Delete an individual star record
- Delete the app
- Delete app data through operating system settings
If a backup file has been saved or shared outside the app, the user must delete that file directly.
9. Children's Privacy
Starlit Map is not designed specifically for children. Because the app's self-reflection features may involve personal problems and emotions, minors are encouraged to use the app with guidance from a parent or guardian.

10. Important Notice for Sensitive Situations
Starlit Map is an app that supports meditation and self-reflection. It does not provide medical services, mental health diagnosis, treatment, counseling, or professional advice.
If a user is experiencing severe depression, self-harm urges, extreme anxiety, risk of violence, or any urgent situation requiring professional help, they should immediately contact local emergency services, a medical provider, a mental health professional, or a trusted person.
11. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy changes, Starlit Map may provide notice through the app or the public policy page. For important changes, Starlit Map will use an appropriate method to notify users.
